What is Online Therapy?

It’s a way of communicating with your counsellor or psychotherapist, using your computer, without having to be face-to-face. There are 3 main ways: Voice/video, such as Skype; by email; and by internet text messaging.

If you feel most comfortable just talking with someone, then Skype is probably your best option. It’s the most ‘real’ way of working, as we can each see as well as hear each other if you want. It’s quite popular and easy to use. At the moment I’m offering a FREE ’taster’ session, where you can talk with me without any further obligations.

Email is more reflective, as it takes time to read through and make sense of everything that’s in the words…for both of us. If you’re the sort of person who enjoys writing your thoughts down, then a weekly email option might be a good choice for you. The advantage of email is that you can look back over what you were feeling a few sessions ago and read exactly what we both wrote.

Internet text messaging is another choice, and can be very effective. If you can type reasonably quickly, then you can cover quite a bit in an hour.

Whichever method you prefer, you can be flexible with your choice. Once you’ve decided to go ahead, then you can choose from booking a single session to different combinations of sessions.

You do not pay anything until we’ve agreed how you want to proceed!

You can find out more about how it works on the HOW page.
